Municipality vizcaino of the Metropolitan Area of Bilbao, with a 3,38 km extension it is placed in the skirts of the Saw Ganguren and implanted, in turn, in the fertile plain that the river Nervion forms between two meanders, giving place to the peninsulas of Legizamon and of Uríbarri. Towards the north, the area raises in altitude and culminates in the mounts of Kurubiolanda (352 mts). and Saint Marína (477 mts). that divide the vale of the Nervion-Ibaizábal of Asúa vale.

Border. To the North with Bilbao; on the South and West, with Basauri and Arrigorriaga and to the east, with Galdakao.

The Etxebarri term turns out to be for the first time tied to the “camino of Echevarri ”, millennial route in the trade route that from Castile was passing for Orduña up to Bermeo. There were the first times of Christianity in Basque Country (century. Xl) and Etxebarri was depending on Santa Maria of Ganguren (Galdakao) until in the XVIth century. San Esteban of Etxebarri situated in Kukuiaga is instituted like Porch independent.

Etxebarri offers to us four dates where to be able to savor entirely the happiness and the coloring in our streets.
The Management Holidays are the days of Santa Ann and San Esteban (26 of July and December 26, respectively).
Also they have big importance the holidays of the quarter of San Antonio (June 13) and those of the quarter of Kukuiaga (the second end of week of September). (fte. to see the links)
