The Orduña history has been marked for two phenomena: the big orographical barrier that has defended to his length of his existence and there has done of Orduña a key point for defense of the Dominion of Biscay, and his geographical situation: an island vizcaína in the middle of Alava and in the way of Castile towards the sea.

The first written reference, which we find in the chronicles of Alfonso III, it goes back a VIIIth century, in the reign of Alfonso I Catholic. Previous are to the written references the remains prehistoric discovered in the area and that date of the epoch Neolithic - Bronze (2000 - 400 B.C.). The above mentioned remains are known today day as Dolmen of the Campas of the Hut.

The historical helmet of the city of Orduña, by means of decree of Basque government, historical set is declared a cultural property with the cataloging of -monumentally in the year 1997, being at present in project the enlargement of the above mentioned recognition. Major medieval helmet of Biscay talks each other of and it lodges between the remains of his walls, both religious and civil monuments of indisputable value inside the patrimony vizcaíno:

On having done this route, we will see churches of different epochs and styles, remains of houses towers, chapels and places where there were born illustrious children of Orduña, all this in a natural way of incredible beauty to the Saw feet Saved on the one hand and, for other, like balcony that begins to show to Ayala's Vale.
